Abstract:   (1100 Views)
Corona Virus 2019 (COVID-19) is a new infectious disease that emerged in late 2019 in Wuhan, China and spread rapidly around the world. The COVID-19 epidemic is seriously affecting the daily lives of people around the world, including their health, economic well-being and social interactions. An epidemic of infectious diseases, as a major stressors in the lives of people and people around, can have many effects on mental health. Unpredictability and uncertainty about the COVID-19 pandemic, fear of infection and COVID-19-related environmental changes are the main stressors that cause mental health problems. And some factors, including economic hardship, social support, increased stress, and unemployment, may be associated with suicidal behaviors.

Suicidal behaviors are multifactorial and involve complex interactions between biological and environmental factors. Among them, a major risk factor for suicidal ideation is a stressful life. Preliminary reports of a suicide wave have been reported in several studies at different stages of the epidemic
As a severe crisis, suicidal ideation and related factors in the general population must be systematically examined.
