Abstract: (659 Views)
Rheumatic diseases are caused by the interaction of various factors such as factors related to the host, environment and in some cases infectious factors (1). The World Health Organization and the Asia-Pacific Rheumatism Association have launched a community-based program to control rheumatic diseases (2). The first part of this program includes studies that determine the prevalence of various rheumatic diseases in most countries. The second part of this program includes education and how to prevent rheumatic diseases (3, 4). In our country, descriptive studies have not been conducted to investigate the prevalence of various rheumatic diseases in the community and the information available from a series of patients admitted to hospitals or specialized clinics can not be generalized to estimate the incidence and prevalence of various rheumatic diseases. Due to the need to determine the prevalence of various rheumatic diseases in the community, we decided to conduct a study in Ilam province and determine the prevalence of various rheumatic diseases in people over 15 years.
