Abstract:   (539 Views)
Background:
In the recent years, introducing plant materials with the ability to destroy or control of biofmutansis highly regarded. This study was planned to Investigate theAnti-bacterial activity and biofilm inhibition of Quercus infectoria gall (oak)against biofilm and single form of S.mutans .

Materials and Methods: After collecting 60 swabs from dental plaque, the samples were cultured in Chocolate Agar and Mytis Salivar Agar culture media. PCR method was used to detect gtf B and brp A genes. The ability to form a biofilm was measured using a microplate method. The cytotoxicity of the alcoholic extract of the Quercus infectoria gall (oak) was determined on the vero cell line. The effect of concentrations less than IC50 on Streptococcus mutans biofilm by phenotypic and genotypic methods was investigated by evaluating the expression of the expression of genes involved in biofilm formation using Real time-q PCR method.
ResultS:
In this study, the IC50 of the Quercus infectoria gall (oak) of plants was determined to be equal to ...... μg / ml. Biofilm significantly increased in 5% sucrose glucose so that most of the isolates formed a strong and medium biofilm. TheQuercus infectoria gall (oak)extract at a concentration of 3 μg / ml Decrease in gene expression (brpA, gtfB).
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the alcoholic extract of the Quercus infectoria gall (oak) has an appropriate biofilm effect on Streptococcus mutans. This effect is concentration-dependent and increasing the concentration of the extract, its anti-biofilm effect also increases. Taking into account the therapeutic and anti-bacterial properties of the plant oak, its pharmacokinetic details will be helpful in utilizing these compounds in the clinical field.
