Abstract: (762 Views)
Epilepsy is one of the most serious neurological disorders in the world, and its frequency is 1-2% in the world population, and more than 40 million people worldwide are suffering from it (1), and the possibility of its prevalence is different in every age, race, and social class. Also, taking into account that seizures are one of the most obvious symptoms of this disease, and according to the available documents in our country, the number of people with epilepsy in Iran is around 700,000 (2), so the relationship between seizures and disorders related to It should also be noted that from the anatomical point of view, the disease is associated with disturbances in the temporal lobe of the hippocampus and changes in the apoptosis process in the cells of the hippocampus. (3) From a functional point of view, it is one of the effects of seizures, that is, the effect on the ion channels in the cell. The aforementioned can be mentioned, and on the other hand, due to the increasing use of ultrasound waves in sonography and the therapeutic use of these waves, and the existence of numerous reports about its effects on ion channels and the excitability of cells, as well as the effects of these waves on the process of apoptosis. Various cells, the need for more research in the aforementioned field is quite tangible. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of these waves in the diagnostic range of 3.5 MHz with an intensity of 65 mw/cm2 on the excitability threshold of nerve cells and also the effect of these waves on apoptosis induced by electroshock (as a proven teratogenic factor in intervention studies) E-applicable) in rat model.
