Hemostasis is a process that plays an important role in preventing bleeding. This system includes primary and secondary homeostasis. Coagulation system and fibrinolysis are parts of secondary homeostasis. Deficiency or lack of coagulation system factors and fibrinolysis leads to bleeding disorders or thrombosis (1).
Bleeding disorders and thrombosis are important, because they can be life-threatening. Factor VIII, XI and V Leiden defects are among the life-threatening cases. Patients with hemophilia (factor VIII and IX deficiency) may die during surgery or trauma due to bleeding (2). Also, patients with factor V Leiden are prone to thrombosis. In these patients, clotting in the brain can lead to a stroke (3). Until now, various aspects of blood coagulation disorders have been investigated. The effect of polymorphisms and mutations include reducing or increasing the activity of coagulation factors and its outcomes, including thrombosis and bleeding. Also, the effect of consanguineous marriages, gender and race in the prevalence of these disorders are impotence (4). Considering the dispersion of studies on coagulation disorders in Iran, a systematic review is necessary. As a result, the aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of coagulation disorders among the Iranian population
