intrudoction
Anxiety and stress, which means restlessness, are taken to refer to the physical and psychological sensitivities that are expressed and created by the organism in response to a threat, whether real or imagined. Anxiety can also arise in response to what threatens self-esteem or the emergence of a situation in which a person feels pressured to do something beyond his or her ability. The causes of stress and anxiety vary from person to person and include individual and family factors, demographics, illness and distressing situations, socio-economic factors and so on. Correct identification of the underlying cause of stress and anxiety is useful in active disease prevention by providing effective education and effective treatment and control of the disease. However, given the multiple and varied underlying causes of this disease, it is therefore somewhat challenging. Ilam province is more prone to anxiety and stress due to special geographical conditions, social and economic context, high inflation and long-term consequences of the imposed war, and the results of studies in certain populations have shown that the prevalence of mental disorders in this province is significant. This existence has not been studied in Ilam so far. Therefore, we decided to conduct a population-based cross-sectional study to investigate the prevalence of stress, anxiety and depression in the population of Ilam and the factors affecting it.

methods
This will be a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study that will be performed on 1350 people living in the city using stratified cluster random sampling in Ilam. At first, the city of Ilam will be divided into 10 regions based on the center of the main health community, and then a number of clusters will be randomly selected from each region proportionally to size. The sample size in each cluster is 20 people. After identifying each cluster by referring to their address, it will be located on the southwest side of this cluster, and then counting households will start clockwise and will continue until the end of the sample size of each cluster. It should be noted that all household members over the age of 15 will be included in the study. This study will use the DASS-21 questionnaire, which measures the three areas of depression, stress and anxiety. The collected data will be finally encoded and analyzed by stata software. Mean and standard deviation will be used to describe quantitative data, and percentage will be used to describe qualitative data. Using multiple logistic regression based on the hosmer-lemeshow criterion, the relationship between each variable and the outcome will be measured and developed into a full model. A significance level of 0.05 will be considered.
