title = {Seroepidemiology of Toxocariasis in 2-12-year-old Children},
abstract ={سرواپیدمیولوژی توکسوکاریازیس در کودکان Abstract Background and Objective: Toxocariasis is a common infection between humans and animals, which can be considered as a health issue in vulnerable populations due to its indigenous nature to the country and the region. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to estimate the risk of contamination with Toxocara canis infection and exposure to its parasite in children. Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was performed on 621 children aged 2 to12 years referred to health centers in Kermanshah, Iran. After sampling and recording the demographic characteristics, the samples were tested for anti-T. canis antibody (IgG) by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method. Data analysis was done using SPSS software and Fisher's exact test. Results: Out of 621 tested serum samples, 8 samples (1.3%) were positive for anti-Toxocara IgG antibodies. Of these, 5 and 3 samples were from male and female patients all living in urban areas. It is noteworthy that none of these individuals had a history of earth-eating, as well as touching or playing with the dog. However, a dog was kept at one of the child's home. Conclusion: The results of the study showed a relatively low prevalence of toxocariasis infection in children, although the findings confirmed the establishment of the parasite transmission cycle in the region. Therefore, considering the importance of hygiene issues, it is necessary to develop and implement strategies for controlling and preventing the infection in the definitive hosts of the parasite in order to reduce the incidence of human infections. تشکر و قدردانی مقاله حاضر برگرفته از پایاننامه abstract ={Due to daily occupational stress, students of medical sciences may experience some disorders in their spiritual, mental, and physical well-being. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the relationship between spiritual health and depression, anxiety, and stress among the students of Ilam University of medical sciences in 1395. This is a descriptive-cross sectional study that was performed on 300 randomly selected students of Ilam University of medical sciences in 1395. In order to measure the level of spiritual health among the participants, Paloutzian-Ellison’s 20-item standard questionnaire was utilized and DASS-21 questionnaire was used to measure variables depression, anxiety, and stress. Findings: In the present study, of 300 subjects under investigation, 194 subjects (64.6 percent) were female. The highest frequencies for depression, anxiety, severe stress, and extremely severe stress were observed among single subjects (12, 20, and 10.6 respectively). Pearson’s correlation coefficient indicated that there is a statistically significant linear correlation between the mean score of spiritual health and the level of depression, anxiety, and stress in students (p=0.001). Conclusion: Results of this research showed a positive correlation between spiritual health and indices depression, anxiety, and stress among students of Ilam University of medical sciences. Accordingly, it can be said that acquiring skills in the domain of spiritual health for medical sciences students is as necessary as acquiring nursing and medical care skills.},

abstract ={Risk management in health care refers to a diverse set of measures taken to improve the quality and safety of services for patients (1). The patient care environment consists of three parts, which include buildings, equipment and staff (2). Various statistics on the incidence and prevalence of medical errors have been published in different hospitals. It is estimated that about one in 10 people admitted to a hospital experiences an unfortunate event, about half of which is preventable, and about one-third of the events cause harm to the patient, which can occur in a variety of ways. It varies from increasing the length of stay to death (3). Risk is the threat posed by an event or action that adversely affects an organization's ability to achieve its goals. In fact, risk management is the process of identifying, evaluating and controlling potential incidental risks, the specific consequences of which are damage or failure to change the status quo.},

abstract ={Background: Travelling to places where the population density is high often causes the transmission of infectious diseases; thus, not complying with hygiene standards can result in an increase in infectious diseases. The aim of the current study was to investigate contagious diseases and their related risk factors among the pilgrims admitted to Ilam’s educational and treatment centers on the day of Arbaeen in 2016. Methods: The study population consisted of 105 patients. The research instrument was a checklist including two parts. The first part of the checklist included demographic information and the second part contained information about infectious diseases. For data analysis, the SPSS V. 19 software was used. Results: The sample size consisted of 63 male patients and 42 female patients. The age groups extremely suffering from infectious diseases were the age groups of above 60 and under 20 years of age including 28 patients (26.7%). The disease associated with the highest mortality rate was acute gastroenteritis with severe dehydration, including 4 deaths. There were statistically significant relationships between the values of WBC, Urea, and Cr and the patients’ gender and age (P Value <0.05). Conclusion: Identifying age groups more prone to such diseases (e.g., children and seniors), complying with hygiene standards, consuming healthy food, and using safe drinking-water can contribute to preventing the occurrence of a large number of infectious diseases. Moreover, it is recommended to hold training classes to have pilgrims learn about the symptoms of contagious diseases.},

title = {The Association between Hypertension and Serum Vitamin D Concentration},
abstract ={Abstract Background and objective: The most common adjustable risk factor for cardiovascular disease is hypertension. Vitamin D deficiency in worldwide has become a pandemic. Yet, the relationship between hypertension and the lack of micronutrients such as vitamin D has not been determined. Therefore, this study was to determine the possible relationship between serum vitamin D concentration and blood pressure in Ilam, Iran. Materials and methods: In this cross-sectional study, 166 participants randomly were selected from the cardiac and internal clinics of Shahid Mostafa Khomeini Hospital in Ilam. Exclusion criteria including diabetes, pregnancy, history of pancreatitis, alcohol consumption greater than 400 cc per week, hypo/hyperthyroidism, hypo/hyperparathyroidism, cushing's syndrome, addison disease, acromegaly , Kidney disease (creatinine higher than 1.5mg/dl), liver and bile duct disease, vitamin D supplementation, history of gastric or duodenal ulcer, gastric and intestinal surgery, and drug use including diuretics, corticosteroids, Antiepileptic, androgen. Hypertension was defined as ≥ 140 mmHg for systolic blood pressure and ≥ 90 mmHg for diastolic blood pressure. The concentration of vitamin D was measured using ELISA method. The cut-off point for vitamin D deficiency was defined as 20 ng / dL. Blood sample was taken for measuring vitamin D concentration. T-test, chi-square and Pearson correlation coefficient were used to measure the association between study variables. Findings: The age range was between 40 to 75 years with the mean [standard deviation] of 52.3 [± 8.3] years. Participants were divided into two groups 44.6% cases (vitamin D deficiency) and 55.4% controls (sufficient level of vitamin D). There was significant association between diastolic blood pressure between two groups (P= 0.048). No significant association between diastolic blood pressure, mean age, BMI, systolic and sex, marital, occupation, education, income, and smoking between two groups (P>0.05). The correlation test showed that decreasing in serum vitamin D concentrations was increasing systolic and diastolic blood pressure. However, this correlation was not statistically significant among study participants. Conclusion: The results showed no statistically significant relationship between blood pressure and serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentration in individuals aged 40 years and over.},

abstract ={Context: Many studies have reported contradictory results about the relationship between selenium levels and the risk of lung cancer. Objectives: This study was performed with the aim of evaluating the relationship between selenium and lung cancer. Methods: The present systematic review and meta-analysis was carried out according to preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and metaanalyses (PRISMA) guidelines. UsingMeSHkeywords, two reviewers independently searched international databases including PubMed, Science Direct, Cochrane, EMBASE,Web of Science, CINAHL, Scopus, and Google Scholar. The data were combined, using comprehensive Meta-Analysis Software Version 2 based on the random effects model. The tests were considered significant at P < 0.05. Results: In 15 high-quality studies including 13 case-control and 2 cohort studies, 84 199 subjects (2 434 cases and 81 765 controls) were studied. The odds ratio (OR) of lung cancer in the highest quintile of selenium exposure compared to the lowest quintile was 0.55 (95% CI: 0.35 to 0.86, P < 0.01). The results of the standardized mean difference between serum selenium concentrations in lung cancer and healthy groups in 11 studies (1446 cases and 77917 controls) was - 0.32 g/L (95% CI: -0.53 to -0.11, P = 0.003). This value for toenails selenium in 3 studies (620 cases and 2 709 controls) was - 0.13 g/g (95% CI: -0.22 to -0.038, P = 0.006). In subgroup analysis, it was determined that gender (P = 0.28), type of studies (P = 0.70), and measurement of selenium samples (P = 0.46) were not influencing factors. Conclusions: The results of the study indicated the preventive role of increased selenium levels in the incidence of lung cancer. Moreover, the selenium could be used as a predictive variable.},

title = {Comparison the effect of tele- nursing and discharge planing on self-efficacy among patients caregivers with stroke hospitalized in governmental hospitals of Ilam and Dezful during 2016-17},
abstract ={Background: Caregivers of patients with strok face with different challenges. Caregivers' self-efficacy is a degree of the caregiver’s mastery sense over his/her capacity to carry out his activities required by the patients. Purpose: The present study was conducted in order to compare the effect of nurse-led telephone follow-up and discharge planing on self-efficacy among caregivers of patients suffering from stroke. Material & Method: The present study was a quasi-experimental clinical trial. The study sample consisted of 105 caregivers of stroke patients, who were selected by a convenience sampling method and were randomly assigned into 3 groups of 35 (control group, discharge program, and telephone follow-up). The required data were collected using a demographic information questionnaire and Sherer General Self-efficacy Scale. The Nursing Telephone Nurses Group trained face-to-face for 20 minutes with an educational stroke pamphlet and followed up for four weeks (five times). In the discharge program, 40 minutes of face-to-face training, along with a manual for caring for patients with stroke, were provided to caregivers of patients. The questionnaires were completed by the caregivers before and one month after the experiment. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 at a confidence interval of 95%. Results: The results of the present study showed that there was no significant difference between the self-efficacy mean scores before and after the study in the control group (p=0.495). In the telephone follow-up group; however, the self-efficacy mean score before the intervention was 63.077±8.79 which increased to 68.43±7.17 after the study. In the discharge group, the self-efficacy mean score increased from 58.69±8.77 to 63.54±6.72 after the study, and these increases were statistically significant (p<0.001). there was a significant difference among the three groups with regard to their self-efficacy mean scores before the study (p=0.043), and this difference can be attributed to the difference between the telephone follow-up group and the discharge programs (p=0.037). Also, there was a significant difference among the three groups after the study (p<0.0001), which can be attributed to the difference between the control group and the telephone follow-up group (p≤0.0001) and the telephone follow-up group and the discharge group( p=0.023). However, there was no significant difference between the control and discharge groups (p=0.086).},

title = {The Effect of Training Intervention on Nurse’s Performance in Execution of Drug and Food Delivery via Nasogastric Tube},
abstract ={Introduction: The safety of a patient who receives nutritional support by tube feeding depends on nursing care and proper implementation of method and detection by the nurse in case of potential damage threatening the patient. Serious and fatal complications can occur if these considerations are not enacted correctly. Aim: The study was conducted to determine the effect of training intervention on nurse’s performance in execution of drug and food orders using a Nasogastric Tube (NGT). Materials and Methods: The present quasi-experimental study was carried out with experimental and control groups by observing 240 cases of executing drug and food orders. The sample consisted of 60 nurses (30 in each group). The experimental group was divided into three groups containing 10 nurses each. Training session of about one and a half-hour was held for each of the three groups. Nurse’s performance was observed by the researchers using an active participation method. Then, data were analysed using SPSS version 21.0 with descriptive (mean and standard deviation) and analytical (independent t-test) statistical tests. Results: Findings showed that there was no statistically significant difference between nurse’s performances before intervention. Training implementation improved the performance level of nurses in the experimental group from 10.05±1.47 before intervention to 13.40±1.94 after intervention (p=0.01). Conclusion: With respect to the effectiveness of training intervention based on training in small groups, implementation of this intervention is recommended to improve the performance of nurses.},

title = {Investigating the Effect of Performing the Quiet Time Protocol on the Sleep Quality of Cardiac Patients},
abstract ={Abstract Sleep is one of the major requirements for patients' recovery. Given the role played by environmental factors in patients' sleep disorders in an intensive care unit (ICU), it is necessary to use an appropriate protocol to improve these patients' sleep. Aim: the present study investigated the effect of quiet time protocol (QT) on the sleep quality of cardiac patients in the city of Ilam. Materials and methods: The present clinical trial was performed in 2015, using cardiac patients in Ilam. The patients were divided into two groups (1) experimental and 2) control groups. Data were collected using a demographic questionnaire (Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) and St. Mary's Hospital Sleep Questionnaire (SMHSQ). The quiet time protocol was carried out with the experimental group from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for three consecutive nights. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation), Fisher's exact test (to compare the two groups in terms of number of days of hospitalization in the ICU before treatment) and independent t-test (to compare the patients' age difference and sleep hours at home). Results: The findings showed that sleep quality was low in patients before quiet time protocol (QT). There was no significant difference between sleep quality of the experimental group and the control group on the first night (p> 0.05), but on the third night, there was an improvement in patient's sleep quality in the experimental group (p <0.05). Conclusion: Given that the quiet sleep protocol improves the quality of patients' sleep, the implementation of this protocol is recommended to patients receiving nursing care},

title = {Evaluating the Effect of Using Training CDs on the Patients with Type II Diabetes1},
abstract ={With a variety of short-term and long-term com-plications, diabetes is one of the most common diseases in the world and has negative effects on different body systems (e.g., brain, heart, kidneys) (1). The prevalence of diabetes is high in Iran and one per 20 of the Iranian people suffers from diabetes. However, the most important problem is that most people do not know they are sick and this causes irreparable consequences (1). Although diabetes is a common disease, some provisions can be thought to prevent its progress and in some cases prevent its occurrence. One of these cases is training diabetic patients. Training can be done through different ways such as using pamphlets, leaflets, photographs, videos, and training classes about the disease for patients. With regard to the evolution of technology and new instruments, better and more effective methods are implemented for training in the world (2, 3). In this study, patients with diabetes were trained through instructional videos. First, patients with type II diabetes referred to the clinic were identi-fied. Then, the date and time of their next visit to the clinic were arranged. Moreover, the objectives of the study were explained to the participants. The samples were divided into two groups: case and control groups. Initially, the two groups were given a test battery including demographic in-formation (i.e., age, gender, height, weight, mari-tal status, location, and history of disease) and 10 questions on their knowledge and attitudes about diabetes, in which the 5-point Likert-type scale was used (Completely know = 5, Partly know = 4, Not sure = 3, Slightly know = 2, and Do not know = 1). Overall, the total score of the ques-tionnaire was 50 points and it was classified into four categories including the low score category (10- 20 points), the lower-middle score category (21-30 points), the upper-middle score category (31-40 points), and high score category (41-50 points). The sample size based on the following statistical formula was at least 44 patients in each group: Z1 is a 95% confidence interval (i.e., 1/96). Z2 is the power of a test (0/84 for 80% power). S is an estimate of the standard deviation of the health literacy score of the two groups. d is the minimum mean difference between the two groups and shows the difference is significant while S is considered to be 0/6. The questionnaire was completed by the case and control groups. Only the case group was given the training CDs containing information on rec-ognizing diabetes, its causes and complications, diet, physical activities and other methods to con- Taghinejad & Tavan: Evaluating the Effect of Using Training CDs on the Patients … Available at: http://ijph.tums.ac.ir 302 trol diabetes, and required actions at the onset of diabetes. After going to the clinic again, the pa-tients completed the same questionnaire. Fur-thermore, the control group also completed the same questionnaire on their next visit to the clinic. Before the intervention (i.e., the instructional videos), the scores of the two groups were almost similar and close to each other. In terms of classi-fications, scores of the case group were as fol-lows: 68% had low score, 24% received the low-er-middle score, and 8% achieved the upper-middle high score, respectively. In the control group, scores were classified as follows: 65% had low score, 25% received the lower-middle score, and 10% achieved the upper-middle score. Moreover, the mean and standard deviation of the case group was 8.6 ± 21.7 and those of the control group were 8.69 ± 22.3. The scores of both groups had increased after the intervention. Although the control group experienced no train-ing, their scores were higher due to conducting the instructions of the experts. However, their scores were not statistically significant (P-value=0.03). However, the training (with instruc-tional videos) was carried out for the case group and their scores were higher in the next test and statistically significant (P-value = 0.03). After the second visit, the classification of scores of both groups was as follows: in the case group, 34% had low score, 46% received the lower-middle score, and 20% achieved the upper-middle score and in the control group, 25% had low score, 55% received the lower-middle score, and 20% achieved the upper-middle score. The mean and standard deviation of the case and control groups were10.9 ±27.5 and 9.8±.33.8, respectively. However, the striking thing is that the overall information on type II diabetes were presented to the patients, but none of them achieved high scores (41-50 points). One of the reasons is that the patients did not exactly pay attention to the questions while responding or to the instructional videos while watching. Most of the study partici-pants were people over 50 yr and maybe this is one of the reasons that the training was not done efficiently. Finally, if some training for effective prevention or treatment of the disease is conducted through instructional videos, it will bring about better re-sults for patients. Thus, it is necessary for the practitioners to act with sensitivity about this subject for example by preparing appropriate programs and lectures or making some series about diabetes on the national radio and televi-sion broadcasts to grant facts because the intui-tive teaching method might be much more fruit-ful than other training methods. Conflict of Interests The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest. Acknowledgements This study was approved by Ilam University of Medical Sciences. The cooperation and financial assistance of the Research Deputy of Ilam Uni-versity of Medical Sciences is gratefully appreciat-ed. Moreover, we would like to deeply thank the healthcare centers affiliated to Ilam University of Medical Sciences and the chancellors and the hospital security officers of education and treat-ment centers of Shahid Mustafa Khomeini for contributing to data collection procedures},

abstract ={Introduction: Nosocomial infections are a major worldwide public health problem. These infections are related to a high rate of mortality and morbidity in hospitalized patients. The aim of this meta-analysis survey was to evaluate the prevalence of nosocomial infections among hospitalized patients in Iran. Methods: We searched Iranian electronic databases (SID, IRANMEDEX, IRANDOC, and MAGIRAN) and MEDLINE for studies that were related to nosocomial infections in Iran. Random effect meta-analysis was applied to pool the prevalence of nosocomial infections as well as the frequency of bacterial pathogens. Data has been interpreted considering, rate of nosocomial infections, frequency of nosocomial pathogens and type of nosocomial infections. Results: Twenty eight studies from 1997 to 2011, involving 22775 patients were included in the analysis. Among them, 3267 patients (28.8%) were infected by nosocomial pathogens (CI 95%: 23.8%-33.7%). Burn wound infections were the most prevalence infection (53.2%) followed by respiratory infection (49.5%), bacteremia (20.7%), Urinary tract infection (19.7%), and surgical wound infections (15.2%). Among nosocomial pathogens, acinetobacterspp (22%) was the most frequent pathogen followed by staphylococcus aurous (21.3%), Klebsiella spp. (20.4%), E.coli (20.3%) and pseudomonas aeruginosa (20.2%). Conclusion: According to the results of this meta-analysis, the prevalence of nosocomial infections was high; therefore an intervention program for control of hospital acquired infections across Iran is needed. },

abstract ={ABSTRACT Introduction: Pain is the key concern of women after caesarean delivery that may interfere with breastfeeding. Aim: The aim of this study was to assess effect of ketofol (ketamine/propofol combination) on pain and complication after caesarean delivery under spinal anaesthesia. Materials and Methods: In this randomized double-blind clinical trial, 92 parturient scheduled for elective caesarean delivery under spinal anaesthesia were included. The simple random sampling method was used to place subjects in four groups of ketamine (0.25 mg/kg), propofol (0.25 mg/kg), ketofol (25 mg ketamine plus 25 mg propofol) and placebo (saline). The drugs were administered intravenously immediately after clamping the umbilical cord. Visual Analog Scale (VAS) was used to determine the intensity of pain. Complications after surgery including shivering, nausea and vomiting as well as onset of breastfeeding were recorded. Results: The mean score of pain, morphine consumption and time of breastfeeding in the ketofol group were significantly lower than other groups at various intervals (p<0.05, p<0.001). The frequencies of shivering, nausea, vomiting, retention and pruritus in the ketofol group were significantly lower than other groups (p<0.001, p<0.05) Conclusion: The effective role of ketofol on reducing pain and complication after caesarean delivery indicated that it can be considered as a safe and alternative drug in these patients.},

abstract ={Introduction: Hypertension is one of the chronic health problems across the world and raises significant global responsibility in developed and developing countries. This study was to examine the effect of education on the lifestyle of patients with hypertension. Methodology: This study was a case-control intervention study on 86 patients with hypertension that were selected by simple random sampling from the rural regions of Aligoudarz County in Lorestan Province. Before the intervention, both groups completed the standard questionnaire of HPLP II; and two months after the treatment, both groups completed the same questionnaire. The results were analyzed using the SPSS software, t-test, and Chi- square. Results: The age mean and the standard deviation in both case and control groups, were respectively 59.95 ± 7.9 and 64.51 ± 9.2 years old. The mean for the total lifestyle scores had a significant increase in the case group than that of the control group (P <0/05). As well, the average scores for the three dimensions of physical activity, nutrition, and stress management after the educational intervention in the case group compared to the control group showed a significant increase (P <0/05).[مرتضی1] Conclusion: Given the relationship between lifestyle and hypertension, it seems that implementing educational programs in the field of nutrition, physical activity, and stress are essential to the improvement of the knowledge and modification of the behavior among patients with hypertension. [مرتضی1]بر اساس چکیده فارسی تغیر بدهید},

abstract ={Abstract Introduction: Intrauterine growth retardation is a physiological and pathological process resulting in a slow or restricted fetal growth, and not only increases fetal mortality, but also is associated with adverse outcomes during infantile and adulthood. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the prevalence and risk factors associated with IUGR in Ilam province in one year period. Materials and Methods: In this study, the prevalence of intra uterine growth retardation (IUGR) was measured by a cross-sectional method among all neonates was born during 2014 in ilam province. Then, by designing a case- control study 781 newborns, including 247 cases and 534 controls were enrolled. Cases were characterized by a birth weight below than 10th percentile for the mean weight, standardized for GA and fetal sex and controls were characterized by a birth weight above the 10th percentile were selected via a simple randomization method. The required information was obtained from hospital records. Data analysis was performed using chi-square test and logistic regression model with SPSS statistical software version 16. Results: Among 9053 neonates، the prevalence rate of neonates born with IUGR in Ilam province during the study period was 2.8%. The median of gestational age in this study was 39 weeks and female/ male ratio of neonates was 1.09. There was a significant relationship between IUGR and multiple pregnancy (OR:24.09; P:0.0001), history of prior fetal death (OR:16.49; P:0.02), mother's place of life (OR:1.86; P:0.001), autoimmune diseases (OR:7.62; P:0.03), kidney disease (OR:18.94; P:0.01), preeclampsia (OR:5.25; P:0.001), hyperemesis gravidarum (OR:15.54; P:0.01), treated hypothyroidism (OR:0.2; P:0.009) and mode of delivery (OR:0.51; P:0.001). Conclusions: It seems that the prevalence rate of neonates born with IUGR in Ilam province was in accordance with global standards. The results showed that multiple pregnancy, history of prior fetal death, preeclampsia, hyperemesis gravidarum, autoimmune and kidney diseases and rural residence increase the chance of intrauterine growth retardation.},

abstract ={OBJECTIVES Little information exists on the association between comorbidities of mental disorders and suicidal ideation in developing countries. The current study examined the relationship between the presence of comorbid mental disorders and suicidal ideation in the adult population. METHODS This cross-sectional study was conducted using the cluster random sampling method in 3 steps. Data were collected from a household assets survey and the self-administered 28-item General Health Questionnaire as first step in screening, and the Persian version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition - Text Revision was used in the second stage to determine the prevalence of mental disorders. Bivariate and multivariate analysis were used to investigate the associations between mental disorders and suicidal ideation. RESULTS Of the 763 participants, 199 (26.1%) had 1 or more mental disorder. Forty-two (71.4%) subjects with comorbidities had a history of suicidal ideation, whereas 59 (7.7%) of all participants had a history of suicidal ideation. We found that major depressive disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder were the most predictive of suicidal ideation in both sexes. The odds ratio for suicidal ideation associated with having 3 comorbid disorders was 2.70 (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.40 to 14.12) in males and 3.06 (95% CI, 1.25 to 15.22) in females. CONCLUSIONS Consistent with pervious data, our results confirmed that mental disorders and comorbidities of mental disorders were important predictors of suicidal ideation. Our findings are very useful for applied intervention programs to reduce the suicide rate in regions in which it is high.},

abstract ={Background: An association between cancer survival and socioeconomic status (SES) has been evaluated for many different cancers but calculating socioeconomic inequality in survival is very lake. In this study we aimed to determine associations between socioeconomic inequality and survival risk factors in patients with gastric carcinoma (GC). Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we enrolled 235 patients with confirmed of GC. SES data were retrieved from three sources pathological records, official death certificates and telephone interviews. polychoric correlation matrix was used to reduce the number of variables. Inequality measured by concentration index (CI) and we decomposing CI to determine contribution in inequality. All analysis was performed by standard statistical software, STATA (Version 11.2). Results: The overall CI for late diagnosis (2 stage onwards) and positive history of smoking were -0.020 (95% CI = -0.041– 0.004) and -0.105 (95% CI = -0.110– -0.076), respectively. Results of decomposition shows past medical history of gastrointestinal diseases (29%) and history of smoking (18%) have a largest contribution in inequality in GC survival. Conclusion: Results of this study showed risk factors in GC survival such as smoking, having a past medical history of gastrointestinal diseases and late diagnosis is more prevalent among people of lower SES.},

abstract ={Chronic heart failure is the most common form of heart disease, especially in the elderly over 65 years of age, and the most common cause of their hospitalization. Also, the rate of readmission and the amount of treatment costs due to hospitalization in these patients are very high. Congestive heart failure (CHF) results in readmission to the hospital within 60 days of discharge. Evidence suggests that up to 1.3 hospitalizations due to CHF have not been compensated, which may be preventable. Self-care in heart failure indicates issues such as diet and medication, sodium and fluid restriction, amount of activity allowed, daily weight, follow-up and decision-making for appropriate treatment measures during severe illness. Heart failure patients need training and support in medication regimen, how to use Medications, diet, activities, identifying the symptoms of heart failure and worsening symptoms and taking appropriate action when symptoms occur. Patients with heart failure should be informed about the symptoms of the disease as well as the importance of following medication instructions and limiting water and salt intake. Improving self-care behaviors helps patients gain more control over their lives and cope with their social functioning. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of education on self-care in patients with chronic myocardial infarction.},

title = {The relationship between vitamin D with learning and memory: A systematic review and meta-analysis},
abstract ={The consolidation of information entering the brain underlies the phenomena of learning and memory. This information can be stored in many parts of the brain, including the new cortex and the hippocampus. The hippocampus is the area in the middle temporal lobe that plays a key role in stabilizing memory and spatial learning in mammals; So that the destruction of this part disrupts the use of memory. Vitamin D deficiency increases the risk of cognitive and dementia in the elderly. However, other studies have shown that deletion of the vitamin D receptor gene has little effect on memory activity. The structural and functional health of neurons is very important in the formation of memory and learning phenomena, and the role of this vitamin in maintaining the health of neurons has also been shown. Vitamin D protects the cortical cells of the brain against damage to neurons by increasing the expression of its receptor messenger RNA. Considering the mentioned cases and the increasing prevalence of osteoporosis (especially in women) due to calcium and vitamin D deficiency in Iran, examining the relationship between this deficiency and memory and learning can be important in better understanding their pathogenesis. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and memory and statistical learning. This research will be done systematically and meta-analysis on published studies in this field. For the findings of this study, articles published in the journals Prequest, Science Direct, PubMed, Google Scholar, Magiran, SID and Iran Medex will be used. The keywords used (main and sub-variables), search strategy (as a search in the title), the distance of the searched years (2015-2001) will be the most important items observed in the search.},

abstract ={Background: Numerous studies have focused on investigating the role of iron serum in the emergence, and development, of cardiovascular diseases (CVD); these studies have produced varying results. The present systematic meta-analytical review was aimed at investigating the relationship between the level of iron serum and the development of CVDs. Methods: The present study conducted a systematic meta-analytical review of the articles published between 7110-7102. In so doing, two independent researchers used appropriate keywords to search medical databases of SID (Scientific Information Database), Mag Iran, Iran doc, Med lib, Iran med ex, Direct Science, Scopus, Google, and Pub Med; collected data, then, was analyzed using SPSS 0.61. Results: According to the results of the meta-analysis study, mean serum iron was 7562.±75622 μmol/L in heart disease group; thus, there turned out to be a significant difference, with a confidence level of %29 (P=.110), between the groups with and without heart disease in this regard. The mean level of ferritin serum was 0126127±.16717 μmol/L in the heart disease group, indicating a significant difference between two groups (P=.110). Conclusion: As an essential element, iron is needed to maintain the natural structure of cells and cell viability; moreover, regardless of other risk factors, ferritin, as the representative of total iron in the body, turned out to be more common in cardiovascular patients compared to the group without the disease, which can be attributed to the probable role of iron storage in causing CVD.},

abstract ={The results of the present study showed that administration of hydroalcoholic extract of chickpea in hypercholesterolemic rats caused a significant decrease in serum levels of triglycerides, cholesterol and LDL-c and a significant increase in serum levels of HDL-c. The extract also had the ability to reduce inflammatory factors so that its administration significantly reduced serum levels of IL-6, CRP, Fibrinogen and TNF-α in hypercholesterolemic rats. It is possible that the mechanism of this plant is due to the observed hypolipidemic and anti-inflammatory effects caused by its polyphenolic compounds. In addition, the results of the present study indicated that the protective effect of hydroalcoholic extract of chickpea is dose-dependent, as the highest effectiveness was observed at a dose of 75 mg / kg. According to the above, it can be concluded that the dose / kg 75 Hydroalcoholic extract of chickpea has the potential to be used as a natural product for the management of cardiovascular disease},

title = {Evaluation of the incidence of urinary tract infections in hospitalized patients and the effect of standard bladder catheterization training on the knowledge and attitude of nurses working in intensive care units of Shahid Mostafa Khomeini Hospital in Ilam in 2017},
abstract ={Urinary tract infections are one of the most common bacterial infections in humans of all ages and the use of urinary catheters is one of the most important underlying factors, especially when they remain for a long time. Complications from catheter use can sometimes lead to serious risks, such as "blood infections" or death. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of bacterial urinary tract infections after catheterization and to determine the pattern of antibiotic resistance of bacteria isolated from patients. . At least 2 urine samples were taken from each patient, before and after catheterization, and after transferring them to the laboratory, in order to count the colonies, they were inoculated to appropriate culture media by standard methods. By isolating and identifying the bacteria, a suspension was prepared from each known colony and tested for susceptibility or resistance to eight different antibiotics by "disk-diffusion" (and the Kirby-Bauer method). The results showed that out of 87 patients who did not have any signs or symptoms of urinary tract infection before receiving the catheter, 38 (43.6%) became infected with bacteriuria at the end of catheterization, while the highest rate of bacteriuria was in the age of 30-39. Year (28.9%) and the lowest was in the ages of 60-69 years (2.6%). The results of culture of urine samples led to the isolation of 50 bacterial strains, among which, E. coli with 17 strains (34%) the highest rate and, Kl. pneumoniae, Staph. aureus Edwardsiella tarda and Ent. sakazakii had the lowest percentage (2%) of isolates. Escherichia coli, Enterobacter aerogenesis and Klebsiella rhinoschromatis showed the highest resistance to ampicillin, penicillin and cephalexin antibiotics and the lowest resistance to nalidixic acid, gentamicin and nitrofurantoin. Staphylococcus epidermidis also showed the highest resistance to penicillin and ampicillin (100% each) and the lowest resistance to gentamicin (66.7%) and cotrimoxazole and nitrofurantoin (50%). Other isolated bacteria showed varying degrees of resistance or susceptibility to the antibiotics tested. The results of this study indicate an increase in the resistance of these bacteria to ampicillin and penicillin G, the need to replace them with other antibiotics if it is possible not to use urinary catheters. Evaluation of the incidence of urinary tract infections in hospitalized patients and the effect of standard bladder catheterization training on the knowledge and attitude of nurses working in intensive care units of Shahid Mostafa Khomeini Hospital in Ilam in 2017 Urinary tract infections are one of the most common bacterial infections of humans of all ages and use Urinary catheters are one of the most important underlying factors, especially when they remain for a long time. abstract ={An expression of beliefs and values is called philosophy, which can be expressed individually or jointly between group members, such as a nursing school, and nurses need to be aware of their own nursing philosophy and that of the institution when hiring, nursing activities, and communicating with their patients. Nursing philosophy provides a perspective on practice, knowledge and research. It also plays an important role in the process of production and development of knowledge in the field of nursing and professionalization. Therefore, the purpose of nursing philosophy is to shape and guide the performance of nurses that arise in the shadow of nursing theories. Since better knowledge and application of philosophy for all nursing disciplines requires knowledge of basic philosophical concepts and because this issue is not very clearly addressed in undergraduate and graduate courses, the researcher decided based on experiences and using articles and resources. title = {Evaluating the expression of miR-135a in the blood sample of patients with depression and comparing with normal samples},
abstract ={Depression is a condition in which a person feels difficult and upset, disturbed and anxious, and finds life boring. A person with depression has conditions that isolate him or her and in severe cases may even lead to suicide. Many psychological studies clearly show that there is a significant relationship between depression and actions such as suicide. It is predicted that in 2020, depression will be the first disabling factor in human society. Major depressive disorder is one of the most important types of mood disorders and its incidence during life is 15% and may even reach 25% in women. According to the latest information in the field of diagnostic methods to facilitate the identification of patients with depression, despite the many efforts that have been made in this field, there is no specific molecular method to diagnose this disease. Therefore, it seems necessary to use the diagnostic methods of molecular biochemistry, which has had great achievements so far. To this end, by fully embracing these methods, in addition to clarifying the molecular mechanisms of diseases, better, more accurate and more selective diagnostic and therapeutic solutions can be provided. The present study aims to evaluate the level of miR-135a in the blood samples of patients with depression and introduce it as a diagnostic target and then as a drug target. So far, there is not much evidence for molecular diagnosis of depression and it is necessary to introduce more diagnostic goals in this field for timely and efficient diagnosis.},

abstract ={Background and Purpose: One of the important nursing theories, which has a special application in adapting patients with chronic diseases and improving their quality of life, is the Roy adaptation model. Therefore, the purpose of this study was investigating the effect of care plan based on Roy adaptation model on spiritual well-being of women with breast cancer. Methodology: This study has an experimental design with a control group that was conducted at Ahwaz Oil Hospital in 2017. In this study, 80 patients with breast cancer who referred to this center were randomly divided into two experimental (40 persons) and control (40 persons) groups. Then, a care plan was developed for the experimental group by using an assesment form and understanding of the adaptive model. Based on this form, the ineffective behaviors of the experimental group were determined in four dimensions of adaptation (physiologic, self-concept, role play, and interdependence), and the focal, contextual and residual stimuli of the ineffective behaviors were identified of these inconsistent behaviors were identified. At the beginning of the study, the paloutzian & Ellison Spiritual well-being Questionnaire was provided to the participants. After the intervention, that questionnaire was completed by the people of the two groups. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods, independent t-paired test and t-test with SPSS software version 23 at 95% confidence level. Results: There was a statistical significant difference between the mean score of spiritual well-being in the two groups after the intervention (P = 0.001). Spiritual well-being score in the exprimental group after intervention (99.9 ± 4.93) was significantly higher than before the intervention (73.77 ± 11.4) (P = 0.001). However, the spiritual well-being score in the control group after intervention (72.02 ± 4.38) was lower before intervention (73.10 ± 4.25), but statistically significant difference was not observed. Discussion and conclusion: Regarding the results of this study and the effect of Roy adaptation model on the spiritual well-being of women with breast cancer, this model can be used as a comprehensive guide to improve the spiritual well-being of these patients in all of the hospitals in Iran. Also the effect of Roy adaptation model can be studied on other patient with chronic disease by randomized clinical trial.},

abstract ={Not all hospitals in Iran have necessity preparation to cope with and reduce financial and moral losses from natural disasters and disaster-prone victims in the country. Evidence suggests that hospitals in Iran are not well prepared to deal with disasters. The aim of this study was to assess the readiness of Valiasr Hospital properness for disasters and disaster-prone events in Darehshahr city. Method: Descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in Valiasr Hospital, Darehshahr city in 2017. National Health Assessment Tool for assessing hospitals and health centers readiness for accidents and disasters was used to collect data for this study. Data collected were analyzed with SPSS version 18. Results: scores of 9 components: Command and Control11(61.10%), Communication 10(37.04%), Safety and Security 17(51.52%), Triage 16(53.30%), Surge Capacity 13(33.30%), Continuity of Essential services 11(45.83%), Human Resources 25(55.56%), Logistics Management and Supply 17(56.67%), and Post Disaster Recovery 12(44.40%) were assessed. In general, average readiness of Valiasr hospital for natural disasters and disaster-prone events was 48.35%. Conclusion: our result indicated that Valiasr’s Hospital was only moderately prepared for natural disasters at Command and Control component. However, with the others eight component the hospital was not prepared enough to respond appropriately in crisis situations. Even though the city has been designated as disaster-prone zone, the results obtained shown hospitals lack of preparedness for disaster emergencies. Therefore, more planning and attention in this field is necessary.},

abstract ={Background and Aim: Taking care of patients with cancer often occurs at home and by family caregivers. However, this group of caregivers does not receive the necessary training on how to provide care at home. The present study aims to compare the effects of face-to-face and Telenursing training methods on the quality of family caregiver’s services for cancer patients. Materials and Methods: In this interventional study 103 family caregivers of cancer patients were randomly divided into three groups of control (N= 35), face-to-face (N= 34), and telenursing (N= 34). The control group only received the routine training, and while the face-to-face and telenursing groups were trained for 12 weeks. Quality of care was measured using a researcher-made questionnaire with two subs scales; physical and psycosocial before and after intervention. Chi-square, Fisher's exact, ANOVA and LSD tests were used for data analysis. All analytical steps were performed using SPSS16 software. Results: There were not significant differenc between three groups demographic characteristic (p>0.05). After intervention, the total quality score for the care of patients in face-to-face (166.13 ± 13.91) and telenursing (157.76 ± 17.24) groups was significantly higher than the control group (82.51 ± 16.84) (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The results of the study showed that the two methods of training were effective on the quality of care among family caregivers of patients with cancer to a similar extent. It is recommended nurses used telephone, social network and face to face method in patient education. In addition, hospitals establishment a ward for education and patient follow up.},

title = {The relationship between maternal anemia during pregnancy and preterm birth: A systematic review and meta-analysis study},
abstract ={This study is the first study of metanalysis and systematic review on the relationship between maternal anemia during pregnancy and weight loss at birth. 18,19,20,22,23,24,28,29,30,31,32,33). . Numerous maternal factors such as maternal anemia, age, gestational age and body mass index are effective in weight loss according to studies (8). In the present study, maternal anemia during pregnancy and low birth weight were investigated. The results of the study showed that the relationship between maternal anemia in the first trimester of pregnancy and lbw is significant, ie maternal anemia in the first trimester of pregnancy increases lbw, but this relationship for maternal anemia in the second and third trimesters and lbw was not significant. Therefore, the results of the Metanalier study showed that maternal anemia in the first trimester of pregnancy increases lbw and in the analysis of subgroups also showed that this relationship is more seen in Asian continents, ie more birth weight loss in countries in Development can be seen as developed. A review study by SUKART et al. In 2013 that examined the relationship between hemoglobin concentration and pregnancy outcomes showed that hemoglobin below 11 g / dl increased the risk of LBW with a relative risk and a confidence interval of 1.17 (95% CI: 1.03-1.32). Gives (26,27). The results of meta-regression study for the year of the study showed that statistically there was no significant relationship between the year of the study with p value, 0.48 and the effect size. The sum of this study was based on the findings of both cohort studies and case studies, although most of the studies were cohorts. Dissemination bias, which is mostly seen in meta-analysis studies and review articles. It happens because the published studies in that field do not represent the total research done in that field. In fact, articles with meaningful results, accurate design (high quality) and high sample size give a better chance of being published in journals. They can also be used in conducting meta-analysis studies of articles in the local language and English-language articles, which do not reflect all the articles published in that field. Also, because the published bias in the results shows that bias has had an effect on these studies. Studies that are correlational are usually biased because the chances of publishing articles that have a positive result are higher and are seen more in the search for such articles. Limitations: The inability of internal information resources to search for a combination of keywords that can not use keywords in combination. Some studies were excluded from the study due to low quality, including medical dissertations. Deleted many studies due to the unknown age of the month of pregnancy Different definitions of anemia in different studies Dismissal of many studies may not have been published due to lack of uniform reporting of articles and publication bias, and some articles that did not have a causal relationship.},

abstract ={Drug addiction in the world is now in the form of unpleasant social phenomena, various economic problems, various infectious diseases and family and mental disorders (1-2) Research has shown that drug addiction is one of the most common addictions in Iran. On the other hand, tolerance is a common phenomenon in patients addicted to opium and candidates for surgery, who need sedation and anesthesia (3). Tolerance refers to a phenomenon in which the use of a drug reduces its effect and requires higher doses to achieve the same effect (4). Morphine is a substance that is isolated from opium and has a profound destructive effect. If the body is exposed to chronic morphine with repeated use of morphine, its adverse effects such as tolerance and dependence occur. Morphine dependence has mental and physical dimensions, which are characterized by the onset of withdrawal syndrome following rapid withdrawal of the substance, which peaks in humans after 36 to 48 hours and is accompanied by symptoms such as severe muscle irritability, anxiety, diarrhea, hostility. And is accompanied by seizures that make the withdrawal process difficult. Therefore, the use of non-narcotic drugs during rapid withdrawal to reduce the severity of withdrawal symptoms is very important (5). Alpha-2 adrenergic receptors have sedative, anti-anxiety, hypnotic, and analgesic properties that exert most of their effects by acting on alpha-2 receptors in the locus cereus and spinal cord (6). Clonidine belongs to this group which is taken orally and intravenously (6) and is an imidazole derivative that is the selective agonist of alpha-2 adrenergic receptors (7).},

abstract ={Backgrond Information: Aging accompanies with deficiencies in different organs of the body. The most important organ that subjected to different problems in elderly age is the genitourinary system. Studies show that urinary incontinence exerts a great influence on physical, social, emotional and psychological activities of the patients; because this illness is considered embarrassing by patients which results in isolation from the society, self-esteem and life quality reduction. From among the mentioned therapeutic interventions, conservative interventions, especially interventions about life style and physical and behavioral interventions are highly recommended for urinary incontinence treatment that can be used in a self-care manner for the aged suffering from urinary incontinence. Purpose: The current study was conducted in order to assess the effect of self-care training program on self-esteem and urinary incontinence in elderly men dwelling in Ilam and Sanandaj Nursing Homes in 2017 . Subject population & method: The present study is a semi-experimental research. The sample consisted of 61 elderly men who suffered from urinary incontinence and dwelt in the rehabilitation and maintenance centers of two cities in the west of Iran. Samples were selected based on an available sample selection method and randomly divided in test and control groups. Data collection tools included Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale Questionnaire (RSES), Questionnaire for Urinary Incontinence Diagnosis (QUID), International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire - Short Form (ICIQ-SF), and a demographic information form. Data were analyzed by SPSS 18 software. Findings: The results of QUID and ICIQ questionnaires indicated that there was a significant difference between two groups after the intervention (P <0.001). Also, there was a significant difference between the mean scores of self-esteem in the experimental group compared to the control group after intervention (P <0.001). Conclusion: The results of current study indicated that samples in the experimental group had a significant improvement in control of incontinence and self-esteem compared to the control group. The training and application of these interventions by nurses of the elderly men can be useful in improving the urinary incontinence, quality of life and self-esteem in elderly men dwelling in nursing homes. },

abstract ={Many individuals with traumatic brain injury experience difficulties with social behavior, some of which are attributed to difficulties in regulation of emotions. Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the difficulties in emotional regulations of patients with mild traumatic brain injury (MTBI) and normal controls. Patients and Methods: In this cohort study, 72 patients with MTBI and 72 normal controls with similar gender were selected. Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) and Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) questionnaires were completed for both the study groups at the beginning of the study and 6 months later. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, Chi‑square, and paired t‑test. Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference between MTBI patients and normal controls in all subscales 6 months after MTBI, and in the total score of DERS, except for the nonaccepted scale and PANAS (P = 0.001), in which no significant difference was observed. In addition, the results of multivariate regression showed that trauma (β = 0.493), age (β = −0.196), familial history of mental disorders (β = −0.185), and financial status could predict emotional regulation (β = 0.148},

title = {Evaluation of the prevalence of latent parasitic infections in people without clinical signs referred to Ilam health centers in 2017},
abstract ={Background:Intestinal parasitic infections are the one of the most common health problems in developing countries, and a number of patients die annually due to complications caused by these parasites. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the rate and type of parasitic infections. Materials andmethods: This descriptive cross-sectional study conducted in one of the Ilam labs in 2016, Atotal of 417 stool specimens were randomly collected. All specimens were examined using direct and ethanol formaldehyde. Suspect specimens were examined using Trichrom staining.Demographic information was also recorded in a questionnaire, and finally the results were analyzed using statistical software SPSS 20. The data were then compared with Chi-square test. Results:out Of the 417 patients examined, 59 (14.1%) were infected with intestinal parasites. The type of parasitic infection in 9.4% was Blastocystis hominis, 3.6% Entamoeba coli, 0.5% Entamoeba histolytica, 0.5% Giardia lamblia and 0.2% Trichomonas hominis. Conclusion: Despite the improvement of public health, parasitic infections are still considered as one of the health problems in the city of Ilam. Therefore, proper planning, public health education, raising the level of health in the area and the provision of safe drinking waterare some of the ways to reduce parasitic infections in the region.},

title = {Evaluation of phosphate removal from aqueous solution using metal organic framework; isotherm, kinetic and thermodynamic study},
abstract ={Background Phosphate (PO4 3−) is the main etiological factor of eutrophication in surface waters. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are novel hybrid materials with amazing structural properties that make them a prominent material for adsorption. Methods Zeolitic imidazolate framework 67 (ZIF-67), a water stable member of MOFs, with a truncated rhombic dodecahedron crystalline structure was synthesized in aqueous environment at room temperature and then characterized using XRD and SEM. PO4 3− adsorption from synthetic solutions using ZIF-67 in batch mode were evaluated and a polynomial model (R2: 0.99,R2 adj: 0.98, LOF: 0.1433) developed using response surface methodology (RSM). Results The highest PO4 3− removal (99.2%) after model optimization obtained when ZIF-67 dose, pH and mixing time adjusted to 6.82, 832.4 mg/L and 39.95 min, respectively. The optimum PO4 3− concentration in which highest PO4 3− removal and lowest adsorbent utilization occurs, observed at 30 mg/L. PO4 3− removal eclipsed significantly in the presence of carbonate. The equilibrium and kinetic models showed that PO4 3− adsorbed in monolayer (qmax: 92.43 mg/g) and the sorption process controlled in the sorption stage. Adsorption was also more favorable at higher PO4 3− concentration, according to the separation factor (KR) graph. Thermodynamic parameters (minus signs of ΔG°, ΔH° of 0.179 KJ/mol and ΔS° of 44.91 KJ/mol.K) demonstrate the spontaneous, endothermic and physisorption nature of the process.},

title = {andropause and it is relation with quality of life in the men over 40 in health center of ilam 2018},
abstract ={Aging is associated with the occurrence or exacerbation of some diseases (1-7). Decreased Sexual Hormone Binding Golobulin (SHBG) levels following chronic illness are among the concerns of older men. Testosterone is an important factor in stimulating multiple functions of body systems in men. Testosterone levels in half of healthy men aged 50-70 years are lower than testosterone levels in healthy men in the age group of 20 to 40 years. 11). Testosterone is the most important androgen in the blood (8). Aging, hereditary factors, obesity, nutrition, stress, depression, chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, chronic kidney failure, chronic liver disease, sleep apnea syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, taking certain medications including glucocorticoids, smoking and alcohol. All of these are factors that are associated with a dramatic decrease in blood testosterone (8, 16). The age-related decrease in plasma testosterone is called andropause. Andropause is a complex process in men's lives, the symptoms of which are usually obvious in middle age and later (9) (8). Andropause is associated with severe physiological and psychological changes that over a long period of time can have a significant impact on the silent disease cycle (10). Symptoms and problems related to this period initially start quietly and do not have a clear clinical picture such as monoposis (9), decreased interest or competition in work, pain in muscles and joints, decreased memory and in some cases Alzheimer's, decreased level Adaptation to others, Decreased mental capacity, Decreased muscle mass, Depression, Shortness of breath when needing more breathing, Murmuring and numbness in fingers, Constipation, hallucinations, Lack of interest in exercise, Sleep disturbance, Flushing especially in area Head and chest, Prostate inflammation, Reversible ejaculation, Gynecomastia (breast enlargement), Negative mood, Hemorrhoids, Anger and irritability, Baldness, Dry eyes, Shorter height, Reduction of armpit and pubic hair, Anxiety, Speed up Osteoporosis, recurrent stress incontinence, and impaired physical function are among the complications of decreased testosterone and andropause (10, 11). Decreased libido, decreased erections, decreased endurance and physical ability, confusion in appearance and clothing (due to depression and lack of desire for sexual attractiveness), shrinkage and loosening and drying of the apex of the penis, weakening of hair pigments and finally Insulting others in stressful situations and inability to control behavior in cases of anger are among the most important complications of andropause (10). Since the incidence of heart disease and diabetes in Asian men is one of the factors affecting the reduction of quality of life and sexual function (3), having physical, mental, sexual, social and emotional health will affect the quality of life. Quality of life is considered as a valuable factor in assessing the health of people after contracting diseases in middle age (12). Poor quality of life can affect family relationships by using coping mechanisms and ineffective adjustment in individuals, which ultimately leads to increased stress in them (13). Sexual function is also one of the important aspects of life (17, 18) and its reduction in andropause can affect the physical, mental and emotional dimensions of quality of life. In 2008, the results of a review study conducted by Low to determine the relationship between ejaculation and erectile dysfunction and quality of life in Asian men (15) showed that the incidence of heart disease and diabetes in Asian men, as well as men in Western countries, Factors affecting the quality of life and sexual function. A review of studies showed that the mean score of quality of life in both mental health and physical health of men with sexual dysfunction significantly decreased compared to men without reporting this disorder (55.88-51.13 vs. 45.25-32.43) (3). The results of a review study showed that with increasing age and andropause, male sexual function also decreases (15). The components of sexual function in men include: sexual desire, erection and ejaculation, which disorder in any of the above components causes this dysfunction in men (15, 19). The results of some studies show that with increasing age, sexual desire decreases so that male libido disorder increases from 1.3% to 25.7% and erectile dysfunction from 1% to 39% in men aged 40 to 79 years, respectively (20) . The results of studies conducted by Zeighami and Poor Tahmatan show that there is an inverse relationship between quality of life (22) and age (22) with quality of life, respectively. Due to the coincidence of the symptoms of andropause with menopause in women and the increased risk of sexual problems in couples, attention to andropause is of particular importance due to its effects on other aspects of couples' lives and its relationship with quality of life (23-25). . According to the Statistics Center of Iran, 25.1% of the total population of the country is in the age group of 25-40 years (14), which in the next 20 years will be in the middle age group of the country, as a result, lack of timely diagnosis And the progression of the disease has caused the relevant diseases to be either incurable or, if treated, to be associated with disability and ultimately a severe decline in the quality of life of middle-aged men (12, 15). On the other hand, due to the fact that Ilam is one of the cities with less quality of life indicators in Iran and is relatively low in economic terms, and in the coming years these young people will reach middle age, which if not available},

title = {Protective effect of Smyrnium cordifolium essential oil and its active ingredient on pentylenetetrazole-induced seizures in mice},
abstract ={Anticonvulsant activity in a dose-dependent manner in the PTZ model. Applies. However, our findings showed that Kurzen, the bioactive fraction of the essential oil, was stronger than SCEO as an anticonvulsant, as these compounds appear to be effective on PTZ-induced seizures, which seems to be effective for seizures. Humans are also effective (1), although the properties of other species of the Apiaceae family have been reported against PTZ-induced seizures. Olive oil (1-3 ml / kg) has been reported to delay seizure attacks (2). Therefore, SCEO and curzerene appear to cause less toxic effects than PTZ. Seizures of other essential oils have been studied. SECO phytochemical analysis confirmed the presence of terpenoids, anticoagulant activity Therefore, terpenoids may be part of the SCEO anticonvulsant action through various mechanisms (3). Terpenoids and plants containing these compounds have anticonvulsant properties. However, tumor growth has been shown to be significantly inhibited in naked SPC-A1 cell mice using Korzen at a dose of 135 mg / kg (4). In the present study, Kurzen at a dose of 0.2 mg / kg only prolongs the onset of seizures compared with the control group. It is noteworthy that the anticonvulsant effect in the present study started from 0.2 mg / kg and was less than the effective dose of SCEO (200 mg / kg). This evidence suggests that curzerene identified in the Smyrnium Cordifolium study may be partly responsible for anticonvulsant activity. There is a hypothesis that SCEO and curzerene can activate kappa opioid receptors (KORs) and produce a protective effect against PTZ-induced seizures. The anticonvulsant activity of KOR agonists has been extensively developed by previous animal studies (5). This study showed some evidence for the anticoagulant activities of SCEO and curzerene in the diagnosis of the PTZ model in mice. Due to the protective effects of SCEO and Kurzen on classical seizures, they can be useful for the treatment of short-term seizures.},
