Introduction: Every day, a large number of patients with severe heart pain or similar cases leading to heart attacks, go to the emergency room in the hope of survival from dangerous and deadly conditions. Knowledge and practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation of nurses working in intensive care units of teaching hospitals in Ilam in 2019.
Materials & Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 40 nurses were studied by simple random pretest-posttest method. To collect the data, a questionnaire consisting of 20 researcher-made questions was used that measured the knowledge and standard checklist of nurses' performance. Inclusion criteria included informed consent to participate in the study, at least one year of experience in care wards. Special requirements and at least a bachelor's degree in nursing and exclusion criteria were withdrawal from continuing studies and not participating in educational programs. Data were analyzed using SPSS V.19 software using descriptive statistics (frequency, mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics (correlation, linear regression and Chi-square test, as well as ANOVA analysis of variance). Significance level was considered for the tests (P <0.05).
Results: The sample consisted of 40 people, of which 31 (77.5%) were women, 27 (67.5%) were project personnel and 13 (32.5%) were formal employment personnel, and Finally, 39 (97.5%) were experts and one (2.5%) was a master of nursing. The mean scores of knowledge before training were 10.8. 2.68 and after training were 16 2 2.77. Discussion and Conclusion: The results showed that most nurses perform CPR based on old protocols, so it is necessary to express these changes during retraining. In addition, due to the decrease in the level of knowledge and skills, it is necessary to repeat these courses over time.
