Neospora caninum is a protozoan parasite that is forced to live intracellularly from spores that can potentially infect different populations of broiler and dairy cows. Infection with this parasite has led to neosporosis, which significantly causes abortions in infected cows.All over the world, neospora abortions are one of the most important and root causes of economic losses to the livestock industry, especially in dairy farms. The parasite is constantly circulating in the fields and pastures between dogs (final host) and cows (intermediate host), and infected cows, in addition to abortion, may even give birth to a baby with Neospora caninum, which in turn infects their offspring. Since there are no specific treatments for this important parasite, the use of vaccination against the parasite to prevent infection seems economical. Bioinformatics tools have been instrumental in identifying vaccine candidate antigenic proteins or their immunizing epitopes over the past few decades. The aim of the present study was to design and evaluate a computer candidate for a new vaccine against Neospora caninum using immunosuppressive epitopes derived from several antigenic proteins of the parasite.
