Abstract:   (2127 Views)
The results of the present study showed that administration of hydroalcoholic extract of chickpea in hypercholesterolemic rats caused a significant decrease in serum levels of triglycerides, cholesterol and LDL-c and a significant increase in serum levels of HDL-c. The extract also had the ability to reduce inflammatory factors so that its administration significantly reduced serum levels of IL-6, CRP, Fibrinogen and TNF-α in hypercholesterolemic rats. It is possible that the mechanism of this plant is due to the observed hypolipidemic and anti-inflammatory effects caused by its polyphenolic compounds. In addition, the results of the present study indicated that the protective effect of hydroalcoholic extract of chickpea is dose-dependent, as the highest effectiveness was observed at a dose of 75 mg / kg. According to the above, it can be concluded that the dose / kg 75 Hydroalcoholic extract of chickpea has the potential to be used as a natural product for the management of cardiovascular disease
